From marketing a listing to screening a tenant to collecting rent. As of August 11th 2026, RentSpree is included as part of being an MLS Technology subscriber, so you can start using it right away with no extra cost to get set up.
Whether you're an agent handling your first rental listing or a seasoned property manager, RentSpree helps you move rental deals along with less back-and-forth, less paperwork, and more confidence in who you're placing in a property.
What Is RentSpree?
RentSpree is an online platform built specifically for rental transactions. It's trusted by millions of agents, landlords, and renters nationwide, and it's used by MLS organizations across the country to bring tenant screening and leasing tools directly into the MLS experience. RentSpree's screening reports are powered by TransUnion, and the platform is SOC 2 Type II certified for data security.

Ready to try it yourself?
1. Visit the MLS Technology + RentSpree partner page to activate your free account.
2. Add a rental listing in Matrix and opt in to RentSpree screening.
3. Send your first screening request to an applicant.

Is RentSpree really free?
Yes. Creating a RentSpree account, adding listings, and sending screening requests are all free for agents through MLS Technology. The applicant pays for the screening report itself (up to $49.99).
Do I have to use RentSpree for my rental listings?
No, RentSpree is an optional benefit available to MLS Technology subscribers. You can opt in when adding a rental listing in Matrix if you'd like to use it.
Who pays for the screening report? Me or the applicant?
The applicant covers the cost of the credit report, background check, and eviction history. The rental application and listing tools remain free for you.
How do I opt in to RentSpree when listing a rental?
When adding or editing a rental listing in Matrix, you'll see an option to opt in to RentSpree screening. Selecting it connects that listing to your RentSpree account so you can send screening requests to applicants directly.
Is applicant information kept secure?
Yes. RentSpree is SOC 2 Type II certified, and all sensitive applicant information is handled through their secure online platform.
Who do I contact if I have an issue with my RentSpree account?
For account-specific issues (login, screening reports, payments), contact RentSpree support directly through the RentSpree Help Center. For questions about how RentSpree connects to MLS Technology or Matrix, contact MLS Technology support.
What if I can't attend the live webinar?
Register anyway! A recording will be sent to everyone who signs up, whether or not you attend live.
