The legal description field is a field that will only allow for a single line of text. (No pressing of the enter or return key is allowed.)
If this field is giving you an error it is most likely due to a new line of text existing within that field.
The most common examples of unaccepted text would be as follows:
Example 1
- "Lot 1 Block 2 Subdivision City T20 - R20 - S20
- [empty line]"
Example 2
- "[empty line]
- "Lot 1 Block 2 Subdivision City T20 - R20 - S20"
Example 3
- "Lot 1 Block 2 Subdivision
- City T20 - R20 - S20"
In order to correct these mistakes we would suggest you take the following actions:
To correct example 1:
- Take your text cursor to the bottom of the legal description edit field by pressing your keyboards down arrow key as far as the cursor will go. Use the backspace key to eliminate any empty lines.
To correct example 2:
- Use they arrow keys to move your cursor to the left of the first letter of your legal description and press the backspace key to eliminate any empty lines before the legal description begins.
To correct example 3:
- Use they arrow keys to move your cursor to the left of the first letter of each line and press the backspace key to back the new line up to the text the proceeds it. Do this for each line and separate them using ONLY the SPACE key to ensure no new line is being entered with the return or enter keys.
If all else fails - we recommend copying the existing text you have in the field and pasting it into Windows "Notepad" program to see where the new lines are at. Remove the lines within Notepad and then paste the edited text back into the legal description edit field.
